Infant Class

Our dedicated infant room is set apart from the rest of our classrooms, and for good reason—our very smallest students have particular needs, and who deserves to be specially catered to more than a baby?

Here, it’s all about the baby

Parents are delighted when they see how well situated this room is for babies—and babies are just as pleased by the time they spend there. This infant-centric area features napping cribs, high chairs, toys, and safe play zones away from toddlers and other children. We customize daily routines for each infant’s needs, because we know that not every baby naps, eats, or plays on the same schedule. Each baby also has his or her own bin full of diapers and other supplies so parents can bring the products they prefer us to use.

  • Multiple skilled and loving caregivers oversee the infant class, where plenty of learning and growing takes place on a daily basis
  • Among our top priorities is making sure each baby gets ample love and attention, with lots of holding, touching, cuddling, singing, and reassuring
  • Our room is filled with sensory stimulation, mobile, and developmental toys that help little ones practice and master their earliest skills
  • We offer plenty of space to move around and develop muscles
  • We welcome babies as young as newborns (no minimum age requirement)
  • The small number of infants in the room means that while there are other babies to interact with, each child also gets ample adult attention all day long—a need never goes unmet
  • We can accommodate any feeding schedule or system; we have a refrigerator on-hand for breast milk, or we can use your formula of choice—or your preferred combination of the two
  • For babies ready for soft foods, we can puree fresh fruits and veggies in our own kitchen
  • Parents are more than welcome to be very involved—feel free to come visit during the day, check in at any time, and let us know if there are any particular needs we can tend to on a given day

Snapshot of a day:

This is an example of what your little one’s day might look like. (We ultimately let the babies dictate how their daily routine will play out—every baby is different and we adjust according to their needs)

BLC has been the perfect place for our little Spencer since he starting coming at 12 weeks old.  I love that they are constantly striving to make improvements; the teachers are very loving and the director is so supportive.  And the price is extremely reasonable, among the best in the Salt Lake Area.

Michelle, BLC mom

Today I woke up and my gums hurt but Miss Jo wrapped me up in a blanket and gave me my Sophie giraffe. When I felt better, I practiced rolling from my tummy to my back. I liked being on my back but I got stuck that way. After a while, Miss Jo helped me roll back to my tummy and she gave me my favorite ball to practice holding.
